HEALTHY BREAKFAST!!!!
For the best healthy breakfast food ideas that will kick start your day, read on!
Many nutritionists consider breakfast to be the most important meal of the day, yet it is probably the meal that is most likely to be skipped by people. Here is our list of top 5 healthy breakfasts to get your body ready for the day ahead:
Scrambled egg on wholegrain toast. The eggs provide a great source of protein and the whole grain toast is a good source of complex carbohydrate that will release energy into your blood gradually throughout the morning.
Porridge. Porridge made with oats or millet enables you to consume good quality, slow release carbohydrates. If you make your porridge with milk this will add some protein to your breakfast and to make it really healthy, add a couple of spoonfuls of fresh or frozen fruit into your bowl for some healthy antioxidants.
Fruit smoothie. A smoothie is a great breakfast option if you’re struggling for time in the mornings. Add a selection of fresh or frozen fruit to some milk and you have a great healthy breakfast. Another healthy tip is to blend up a few nuts and seeds into the smoothie to add some extra vitamins and minerals as well as some essential fats and protein.
Muesli. Muesli made with lots of nuts and fruit provides a well-balanced breakfast, but be careful not to buy any of the manufactured brands that are heavily packed with sugar and salt. Try to look for labels that clearly state ‘no added sugar or salt’.
Peanut butter on wholegrain toast. Peanut butter is a great source of healthy fats and provides quality protein as well. Spread this on wholegrain toast, a healthy carbohydrate and you have a well-balanced breakfast. Be careful if you’re conscious of consuming too many calories though, as peanut butter is high in calories.
Healthy slow release energy, high protein breakfast ideas that will deliver.
